Streetfest

There are still some exciting Find Your Talent cultural projects under way across the country during September. For example, don't miss this week's Streetfest in Weston-Super-Mare.

Held on the Beach Lawns and other sites around Weston-super-Mare town centre between Friday 10 – Sunday 12 September, Streetfest is a 3-day festival celebration of street dance including hip-hop, break dance, street and free-running, music, fashion, graffiti art, street theatre and much more.

Throughout 2010, children and young people in North Somerset have had the opportunity to attend workshops and events leading up to this festival weekend. For some of these talented young people this will be the first time they have performed on a professional stage.

One of the highlights of the festival will be an exciting fashion show on the afternoon of 10 September. Presented by London College of Fashion and Weston College, the young people will be modeling a collection of outfits which they designed and created themselves during a week of 'Fashion Freestyle' workshops at Weston College. Hosted by radio presenter Junior Saunders, the collections will be inspired by music and architecture using textile techniques.
