MyVoice write or wrong? is a partnership project between CCE and The Reading Agency. It is a bursary scheme around reading and writing for nine young people (aged 13-19) from different areas in England.
MyVoice - write or wrong? aims to engage young people in shared reading and writing with published writers mentoring the young people to improve their writing skills and libraries supporting their reading.
The focus of the project is to help young people articulate their perspectives on global issues, such as racism, extremism, identity and citizenship through writing. The selection of new writing from the MyVoice bursary scheme will then be used as a resource to help educators and young people explore issues affecting them. The nine successful applicants for MyVoice were announced in November 2009.
Hardeep Singh Kohli, mentor: "I feel humbled and honoured to have met these young writers. They both clearly have talent and an appetite to learn. I too feel that I have grown and developed in meeting and talking to them."
