The Government’s Prevent strategy seeks to stop people becoming or supporting terrorists or violent extremists. Building the resilience of communities to resist violent extremism is a key part of that strategy.

There are many examples from around the country of how practitioners at a local level from local authorities, the police and other statutory partners have been working together with their communities and community groups to help them actively reject and condemn violent extremism.

This document showcases some examples of how local partners are working together to deliver projects that successfully achieves this. It shows the rich diversity of projects being delivered at a local level – reflecting the fact that community needs and issues vary from place to place.

There are many other examples of good projects at a local level. These case studies are intended to encourage local partners and communities to think about the work that is being done in different areas and consider what learning is relevant for them.
