Summary

The first in a series of summaries of research, evaluation and learning from the Creative Partnerships programme, This Much We Know offers a brief account of how the programme operated at the time of publication along with short entries of key research findings from projects commissioned from 2002 – 2006. Read in conjunction with the two later publications (Changing Young Lives – 2009 and 2012) it offers a clear, readable account of the learning journey charted by the government’s flagship creative learning programme.

Studies summarised include, among others:

  • Creative Partnerships: Initiative and Impact (OfSTED)
  • Investing in the creative and cultural economies (BOP)
  • Creative Apprentices: Training Artists for working in participatory settings in CP Black Country (Felicity Woolf Associates)

It also contains a thinkpiece by Dr Julian Sefton-Green that raises the question of defining impact in the context of creative work with young people and some of the attendant challenges it is useful to keep in mind.
